Computer Vision Machine Learning & AI Lead at FLOORFY

Gemma Rotger has a diverse work experience in computer vision and machine learning. Since November 2021, they have been working as a Computer Vision Machine Learning & AI Lead at FLOORFY · Virtual visits. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Collaborator at IRI - Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial, CSIC-UPC starting in January 2016. From November 2019 to November 2021, they served as a Computer Vision Project Manager at I-MAS, where they designed and developed computer vision-based industrial machinery for Industry 4.0.

Before that, Gemma worked at the Computer Vision Center. From October 2015 to January 2021, they served as a Researcher and PhD Candidate, conducting research in computer vision. Gemma also worked as a Programmer and Analyst from July 2014 to September 2015 and as an Intern Student from October 2013 to July 2014 at the same institution.

Gemma also worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at INFAIMON from May 2019 to November 2019. Additionally, they have teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where they taught courses on Programming Fundamentals (C/C++) from September 2016 to December 2017 and Computer Vision and Image Processing from February 2014 to July 2017.

Furthermore, Gemma has experience in journalism, having worked as a Journalist for Revista Ferreries and Ultima Hora Menorca from May 2010 to April 2014. Gemma'swork involved contributing regular articles on tech and science, conducting interviews, and focusing on topics such as AI, robotics, and cyber security.

Gemma Rotger completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2009 to 2014. Gemma then pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Vision at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2014 to 2015. Gemma further expanded their knowledge in the field by undertaking a Ph.D. in Computer Vision at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2015 to 2021. Throughout their education, their academic focus revolved around Mathematics and Computer Science.
