Rajendra Prasath Palanisamy is an Assistant Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology since August 2025, focusing on research related to AI-assisted structural health monitoring. Prior to this position, Rajendra served as an Entrepreneur Postdoctoral Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory from May 2022 to September 2025, where significant advancements were made in liquid characterization and acoustic metamaterials, as well as the development of rapid damage diagnosis technology using machine learning. Rajendra's academic journey includes a Ph.D. in NDE and Structural Health Monitoring from Michigan State University, a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Anna University Chennai. Additional experience includes internships at NASA Ames Research Center and research assistantships at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology and Indian Institute of Science.
