Roshan Pourabdollah has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 2005 as a Primary Intervention Program Specialist at Edgewood Center for Children and Families. In 2007, Roshan worked as a Program Specialist at the San Francisco Unified School District, where they developed lesson plans and learning activities designed to strengthen literacy and language skills. In 2008, Roshan joined the Iranian Society for Human Rights as a Senior Program Manager, moderating lectures and conferences and leading media outreach. In 2012, Roshan became a Product Operations Specialist at Groupon, where they initiated and owned the company’s first chat application and diversified their image database. From 2014 to 2018, Roshan worked as a Product Management Consultant at ThoughtWorks, working with Fortune 500 and startup companies to coach teams and develop software. In 2018, Roshan was a Senior Product Manager at Education.com, working closely with the VP's and CEO to define company-wide OKR's, three-year vision, and product roadmap. In 2017, Roshan was the Lead Product Manager at Peerlyst, managing a scrappy, globally distributed team and launching features such as a total redesign of the site UI/UX, a redesigned sign up process, deep linking and comment threading on User Generated Content, and a Jobs portal with recruiter interface. Since 2020, Roshan has been a Principal Product Manager at Photomath, and since 2022, Roshan has been a Principal Product Manager at GoFundMe and Head of Product at Flossy.
Roshan Pourabdollah has a diverse educational background. Roshan obtained a College of Extended Learning degree in Project Management from the University of California, Berkeley. Roshan then earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International and Multicultural Education with a Human Rights Emphasis from the University of San Francisco. Roshan also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology from San Francisco State University. Additionally, they have a Certificate in French Civilization and Culture from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, and completed a Product Management Bootcamp at General Assembly.
