David Drake

David Drake has worked in a variety of roles in the software engineering and technology industry since 2001. David began their career as an actor in various theatres in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. In 2003, they began working as a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. From 2007 to 2021, they held various roles in software engineering, including a Senior Web Applications Engineer for Grupthink, a Web Applications Developer and Support Engineer for Modwest, a Senior Software Engineer for Glacial Energy, a Chief Technology Officer for iCracked and Cannabis Reports, and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of RedDep Labs. Most recently, they have been the Director of Engineering for Flourish Software, where they are responsible for leadership and engineering management for an enterprise-level supply chain solution for the cannabis industry. David has developed in Go, SQL, Looker, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, SQLite, React, Salt, Python, Bash, Java, C++, Android, iOS, CSS, SASS, and more.

David Drake graduated from George Mason University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theater. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Applied Science in Software Application Development from Northern Virginia Community College in 2003.
