That's where you come in…

This role would suit someone who has enterprise and operational risk experience within the financial services sector and is looking to develop their career professionally by helping to mature and embed Fluro’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). The role-holder will be proactive, organised and comfortable managing their own workload. They will be capable of dealing with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation to support a positive risk management culture.

The role is a hands-on position for someone to advocate risk awareness and help shape the evolution of Fluro’s ERMF (with a heavy focus on operational and conduct risk). Duties include day-to-day oversight and management of the ERMF; supporting the business to identify, manage and report on risks, and drive permanent positive change.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Compliance and engaging regularly with the Chief Risk Officer, you will: 

  • Collaborate effectively with the team members across the business to mature and embed the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and assist in the development and implementation of processes, procedures, training and guidance;
  • Support team members to identify key operational and conduct risks, including emerging risks, and to determine strategies to ensure risks are managed within risk appetite;
  • Help team members identify appropriate key risk indicators (KRIs), risk appetite and other metrics to ensure reporting to Fluro’s governance committees supports effective risk management and decision-making;
  • Collaborate with team members to carry out risk and controls self-assessments (RCSA) and document risks following a defined taxonomy (which you will maintain);
  • Oversee the business’ implementation of the ERMF and ongoing execution through trend analysis and thematic reviews, providing assurance around (for example) risk and controls self-assessments (RCSA), local risk registers, and KRI reporting;
  • Own the ‘risk event’ (business incident) process and coordinate response teams to ensure risk events are appropriately managed, reported and resolved (including oversight of root cause analysis and tracking remediation, including around root cause);
  • Support business change by providing advice and guidance, e.g. around risk identification, assessment and management for new initiatives, strategic projects and product development;
  • Coordinate and prepare papers for the Conduct & Operational Risk and Audit & Risk Committees, and act as Chair for those Committees when required;
  • Administer and manage Fluro’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system and support the maintenance of Fluro’s policy framework and governance documentation (e.g. Committee Terms of Reference).

Required skills and experience

  • Strong knowledge of and relevant experience working in a range of risk management disciplines. Enterprise and/or operational risk management experience within an Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated firm is highly desirable, particularly FinTech sector experience;
  • Broad knowledge of risk management best practices and their application within the FCA’s regulatory framework;
  • Ability to identify and drive improvements within Fluro’s ERMF, providing constructive challenge to promote the most effective ways of working;
  • Ability to work with team members at all levels across the business, to gain the confidence of Senior Management and challenge the status quo;
  • Superior problem-solving skills and a strategic forward-thinker who can grasp concepts quickly to deliver a reasoned investigation and analysis;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • A self-starter with attention to detail and the ability to pick up on errors/produce accurate work.
