Joe Spanedda

Joe Spanedda has worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Flux Marine Ltd. since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Mechanical Engineer at AstroNova (formerly Astro-Med, Inc.) from 2016-2021. From 2011-2016, they were a Mechanical Engineer at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, where they designed, developed, tested and supported high accuracy electro-mechanical linear and rotary motion systems, conceptualized and developed innovative principles, ideas and intellectual property, and developed test procedures to evaluate and resolve problems. Joe also prepared design layouts and part designs using Solidworks, and occasionally ProEngineer and Autodesk Inventor. From 1999-2011, Joe was a Senior Mechanical Engineer at GTECH, where they designed, developed, tested and supported electro-mechanical systems, devices, components and enclosures, led the Mechanical Engineering Center of Competence for design quality, productivity and training initiatives, and developed standards and forms for tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M-1994. Finally, from 1988-1999, Joe was a Product Design Engineer at Leviton.

Joe Spanedda obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Roger Williams University. Joe also holds certifications from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Basic Statistical Process Control, Design for Manufacturability, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and Six Sigma Tolerance Stack-Ups Analysis. Additionally, they have a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from ASQ.
