About the Role

Here at Fluxergy you will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team of life scientists and engineers to help optimize and develop new diagnostic assays using a variety of different detection methods and in various markets. 

This is an opportunity to join a team focused on making a significant impact on the biotechnology and diagnostics space through groundbreaking research and development. As a Research Scientist, you will be expected to apply your expert knowledge and skills in assay development, microbiology, and chemistry to help develop new and novel assays for detecting various targets. You will conduct, analyze, and report on experiments to develop new molecular assays from feasibility through validation for the Fluxergy platform. The Research Scientist will work closely with the R&D Director of Molecular Assay Development and other Research Scientists and Research Associates to develop strategic plans for product development and expanding operations of the Molecular Assay Development department within Fluxergy. We are looking for a highly motivated scientist who can design and conduct robust and efficient experiments to solve difficult technical problems. What You Will Do

  • Work with an interdisciplinary team of life scientists and engineers to develop new diagnostic assays using various detection methods for various target markets.
  • Perform extensive sequence analysis and bring up qPCR assays and validate the designs and concepts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of product development per company’s procedures.
  • Bring products from design to validation under Design Control according to FDA 21CFR820 regulations and prepare appropriate reports.
  • Communicates effectively and works collaboratively within the department. Leads by example as a team player.
  • Follows project timelines and manages time to ensure deliverables meet target dates.
  • Run experiments in the lab, including pipetting, working in biosafety cabinets, and using various laboratory tools and equipment.
  • Analyze data generated from experiments using various methods including numerical methods and generate thoughtful interpretations of the collected information.
  • Participate in design validation activities including clinical trials, in-house trials, data analysis and report writing.

What You'll Need to Have

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering or other related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; 2-3 years working in Biotech
  • Hands on lab experience
  • Demonstrated experience of time management and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with experimental design, optimization and troubleshooting
  • Ability to make detailed observations, review, analyze and interpret data.
  • BONUS: Experience developing IVD products and design controls
