Job description

This position will be an integral contributor to the Focus FP&A efforts and data analysis tasks.    This role is based in New Hyde Park, NY.     Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist partner firms to prepare profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Work as initial / primary contact with subsidiary’s accounting/finance teams for monthly financial reporting package submission
  • Perform monthly analytics to understand fluctuations between current and prior periods and fluctuations between actual and budget/forecast
  • Review reconciliations for all balance sheet items as needed
  • Complete various ad hoc projects and analysis at request of manager
  • Assist with quarterly and monthly statical updates
  • Assist with due diligence regarding potential acquisitions
  • Work with subsidiaries in transition to corporate systems and procedures following acquisitions   Qualifications ·       Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting ·       2+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience ·       Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, working knowledge of VBA, macros and business intelligence (BI) tools a plus ·       Strong communication and organizational skills ·       Accounting experience with GAAP is a plus ·       Knowledge of accounting software is a plus ·       Ability to work independently and as a team member; ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources.    The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $75,000-$125,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
