Robert Phillips

Chief Specialist Environmental Health at Food Safety Authority of Ireland

Robert Phillips has a strong background in food safety and fraud investigation. Robert is currently serving as the Chief Specialist Environmental Health at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Audit and Investigation Manager at the same organization from November 2018 to January 2022. Before joining the Food Safety Authority, Robert was a Training Coordinator for AENOR starting from June 2014. From August 2004 to November 2018, they held the role of Head of Food Fraud Unit at the Welsh Food Fraud Co-ordination Unit. Robert also gained experience as a Senior Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety) at Pembrokeshire County Council from March 2003 to August 2004. Their career began as a Seconded Food Fraud Investigator at the Food Standards Agency from March 2001 to March 2003.

Robert Phillips attended the University of Wales Institute Cardiff from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environmental Health.
