John Szpylka

Technical Advisor at Food Safety Net Services

Dr. John Szpylka joined Food Safety Net Services in 2020 overseeing Chemistry Research & Development and is an expert in food and supplement testing. His 30+ years of experience with third-party testing laboratories allows Dr. Szpylka to be a resource to clients for technical, regulatory, and troubleshooting guidance. Dr. Szpylka currently serves as the Secretary on the AOAC International Board of Directors, is an AOAC Fellow, and is a past chair of the AOACI Official Methods Board. He currently chairs the AOACI ALACC Quality Committee, the AOAC Non-Targeted Testing Food Authenticity Working Group, and serves on numerous Expert Review Panels and Stakeholder Panels. Dr. Szpylka also serves as co-chair of the Carbohydrates & Fiber Technical Division of the Cereals & Grain Association. Dr. Szpylka received his doctorate in analytical chemistry from the Ohio State University after receiving a B.S. in chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
