Jared Scharen

Jared Scharen is the VP of Marketing at Foodsmart. Jared was previously the CEO and Co-Founder of eRetirements from January 2015 to June 2017. eRetirements is a website created to help future retirees identify their ideal retirement location customized for their individual needs. The website uses a proprietary algorithm that allows users to answer questions about themselves in a "Match.com" style survey and then recommends three ideal retirement locations. Retirees can then click within each location to gather additional information, upon which the website matches them with local realtors, financial advisors, and other services they need to relocate. Under Jared's leadership, eRetirements experienced 40% monthly traffic growth, over 4,000 user signups, and established partnerships with three financial advisory firms and retirement communities. Jared was also a winner of Northwestern University's Elevator Pitch Competition and placed third in Kellogg's Shark Tank Challenge.

Jared Scharen earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management with a focus in strategy and entrepreneurship. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Villanova University, earning a BSc in finance and economics with summa cum laude honors. Jared is also certified in diabetes prevention and lifestyle coaching from State of Wellness Inc. and Precision Nutrition, and they are a certified personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness).
