Cathy Lebowitz

Cathy Lebowitz is a Visual Arts Instructor at Fordham University since September 2019, focusing on Drawing I and Visual Thinking. In addition to this role, Lebowitz serves as an Image and Copy Editor at the Whitney Museum of American Art since August 2018. Previous experience includes editorial production for a Jason Moran catalogue at Walker Art Center (2017-2018) and a long tenure as Senior Editor at Art in America from 1987 to October 2017. During 2015-2016, Lebowitz managed and edited writers’ grants for the Art in America/Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Arts Writing Fellowship. Additionally, Lebowitz contributed as an editor for Lacanian Ink from 2000 to 2015. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Smith College and an MFA in Creative Writing from New School University, along with studies at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture.
