Vladimir Lyubinets

Vladimir Lyubinets is a software engineer who currently works for Forethought. Vladimir has previously worked for Databricks and LinkedIn as a software engineering intern. In their previous position at Databricks, Vladimir made major extensions to the data import functionality of the Databricks Cloud. Vladimir also wrote the original version of the Avro connector for Spark, which has been starred over 500 times on GitHub. Furthermore, they implemented and benchmarked performance optimizations for Apache Spark, speeding up conversions between RDDs and dataframes by a factor of 2. In their previous internship at LinkedIn, Vladimir worked on improving candidate recommendations for recruiters. Vladimir extended the existing recommendation model with new features that were extracted from recruiters' search data. The implementation was done in Java, using Hadoop MapReduce to process the data. Vladimir also performed analysis to select features and evaluate results. Lastly, Vladimir interned at Facebook in May 2013 to August 2013.

Vladimir Lyubinets studied computer science at the University of Waterloo and Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum before completing their education at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne).
