Jamal Riley

Software Engineering Fellow at Formation

Jamal Riley started their work experience in 2016 as an Information Technology Technician at Chicago Public Schools, where they built and set up computer and network systems and maintained computer hardware and software. In 2017, they became an Engineering Project Assistant Instructor at Chicago State University, mentoring and instructing students in advanced STEM subjects and providing consulting services in game design and robot programming. In 2018, they briefly worked as a STEM Mentor at FIRST, mentoring elementary students in robotics and computer science projects. From 2016 to 2018, they also worked at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, starting as an Instructor and later becoming a Lead Instructor, Assistant Director, and eventually the Director of Operations. In these roles, they managed teams, developed spreadsheet systems for organization metrics, and ensured customer satisfaction. Lastly, in 2022, they worked as a Software Engineering Fellow at Formation, completing intensive training and gaining experience in fixing bugs and implementing features in a large code base.

Jamal Riley attended Western Governors University starting in the year 2020. Jamal is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. No end year has been specified, indicating that they are still enrolled or has not yet completed their degree.
