Dr. Felix Gunkel

Dr. Felix Gunkel is a Group Leader and Senior Scientist at Forschungszentrum Jülich since January 2019, concurrently serving as a Guest Researcher in the FOX section and Ørsted Senior Fellow at DTU - Technical University of Denmark since December 2019. With extensive experience in the fields of nanoelectronics and electrolysis, Dr. Gunkel focuses on nanoscale chemistry of surfaces and interfaces, having previously worked as a Senior Research Scientist at RWTH Aachen University from March 2015 to December 2018. Earlier roles include Research Staff at Forschungszentrum Jülich, a researcher at Stanford University, and a PhD Graduate Student at RWTH Aachen University, where Dr. Gunkel earned a Dr. rer. nat. in Physics. Educational background also includes a Diplom in Physics from RWTH Aachen University and an ERASMUS scholarship at Chalmers University of Technology.
