Lead Navigation Engineer at Forssea Robotics

Auguste Bourgois has a diverse work experience primarily focused on robotics engineering. They started their career in 2015 at ENSTA Bretagne, where they were involved in designing and building land and air semi-autonomous robots. They also served as the pilot for the official drone team.

In 2016, Bourgois worked as an underwater robotics engineer at Forssea Robotics, where they were responsible for embedded software design for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). They also developed localization and control algorithms and built prototypes and steering devices for ROVs.

Bourgois continued their journey at Forssea Robotics and became a research engineer in 2017. They held this role until 2020, contributing to various research projects. Finally, they currently hold the position of Lead Navigation Engineer at Forssea Robotics, starting in February 2021.

Auguste Bourgois has an extensive education history. From 2017 to 2020, they attended ENSTA Bretagne and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Underwater Robotics. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2017, they studied at Heriot-Watt University and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Robotics, Autonomous and Interactive Systems with a specialization in Autonomous Robotics.

Before pursuing their master's degree, Auguste attended ENSTA Bretagne from 2014 to 2017 and received a French engineering diploma in Mobile Robotics. Auguste began their higher education journey in 2012 at Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Ecoles, Lycée Pasteur, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, where they focused on Physics and Engineering sciences.

In addition to their formal education, Auguste Bourgois has obtained several certifications. In October 2017, they achieved a Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification from Croix-Rouge française. In September 2015, they obtained a Certificat d'aptitude théorique au pilotage d'ULM from Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile. In the same year, in May, they acquired a Permis côtier, hauturier & fluvial certification from DRIEAT (Direction régionale et interdépartementale Environnement-Aménagement-Transports). Recently, in April 2021, they completed an Opito BOSIET certification from FMTC Safety. Finally, in December 2015, they obtained a TOEFL iBT certification from The TOEFL® test.
