Daniel Arevalo

Daniel Arevalo has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as an IT Development Consultant for The Ivy Faculty Consortium. Daniel then worked as a CTO at ViVil from 2015 to 2016, focusing on developing innovative applications. In 2016, they co-founded Glimty AS, where their role involved creating an inclusive culture and a collaborative working environment.

Daniel joined Smartlands Platform in 2017 as a Development Advisor, connecting the real economy and blockchain to create new opportunities for companies and investors. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Rising Leader at AmCham Norway. In the same year, they also became a ChangemakerXchange Alumnus at Ashoka.

In 2018, Daniel became the Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Ruvikas, utilizing smart contracts and a proprietary blockchain to improve the certification and management of social development funding. Daniel joined Confirmit in 2019 as a Senior UX Designer, before taking up the role of Lead UX & Product Designer at Forsta in 2021.

Daniel Arevalo has an extensive education history with a range of degrees and fields of study. Daniel first attended Universidad Industrial de Santander from 2007 to 2012, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering. From 2011 to 2012, they also pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician at Universidad de Los Andes.

Continuing their education, Daniel attended Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2013, where they completed course credits in Computer Engineering. In 2013, they enrolled at Harvard Extension School and obtained a Master's degree in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) with a focus on Information Technology, which they completed in 2014.

In 2014, Daniel began their studies in Interaction Design at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), completing their Master's degree in 2016. Additionally, they attended the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2015 to 2017, where they pursued a Master’s degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Daniel also has experience in entrepreneurship, having attended a boot camp on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015.
