Lasse Øverlier is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor at NTNU since July 2002, specializing in privacy, anonymity, traffic flow confidentiality, hidden services, and network security. Concurrently, Lasse Øverlier holds the position of Principal Scientist at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) since August 2002. Lasse Øverlier’s earlier experience includes a PhD Research Fellowship at the University of Oslo and Gjøvik University College, focusing on information security and hidden services from February 2004 to November 2007, as well as a stint as a research scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory from August 2005 to August 2006. Prior to academic roles, Lasse Øverlier held various managerial positions in consulting and technical management from 1995 to 2001 and worked as an IT Manager at the Norwegian Computing Center from 1993 to 1995. Lasse Øverlier earned a Siv.ing. in Experimental Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and a PhD in Computer Security from the University of Oslo.
