Russell Orr

Russell Orr is a Senior Research Scientist at Forsvarets forskningsinstitutt - FFI, responsible for leading UNSGM RefBIO ringtests, multiple NGS and metagenomics projects, and establishing an in-house NGS biological emergency laboratory. Previously, Russell served as a researcher at the University of Oslo, managing international collaborations, developing wet- and dry-lab methods, and supervising PhD students. Russell's academic background includes a PhD in Biology from the University of Oslo, complemented by extensive experience in teaching, project management, and method development in molecular biology, as well as roles as a guest researcher at VIB and JAMSTEC and a senior sales executive in the media industry.
