Shima Afzali

Shima Afzali has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and insights. Shima is currently working as the Head of Data & Insights at Forsyth Barr Limited, a New Zealand-owned firm offering investment and wealth management services. Before joining Forsyth Barr, Shima worked at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a Practice Lead Data Science and a Data Scientist. Prior to that, they held multiple roles as a Data Scientist at Contact Energy Ltd. Shima also worked as a Tutor at Victoria University of Wellington. Shima Afzali obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Engineering and Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington between 2016 and 2019.
