Jay Sommariva has extensive experience in asset management and fixed income portfolios. Jay is currently serving as the Head of Asset Management at Fort Pitt Capital Group since December 2019. In this role, they manage fixed income portfolios and conducts equity analysis.
Prior to this, Jay worked at BNY Mellon/Standish Asset Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager/Vice President from September 2008 to June 2013. Jay managed over $50 billion in fixed income assets and provided relationship management to clients.
Before that, Jay held the position of Relationship Manager/Vice President at Standish Mellon Asset Management from July 2005 to September 2008. Jay traveled extensively, meeting with clients and developing investment management agreements.
In addition, Jay has experience as the Co-Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Ellis Group, where they managed the financial aspects of the corporation from September 2003 to July 2005.
Furthermore, Jay worked at Northern Trust Asset Management as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager from December 2000 to September 2003. Jay managed Securities Lending portfolios and credit Money Market funds.
Lastly, Jay started their career at BNY Mellon in October 1994 as a Portfolio Manager/Trader. Jay managed a Securities Lending desk and played a key role in developing a proprietary program for matching investments with liabilities for institutional clients.
Jay Sommariva holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, they have completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance, General from Duquesne University.
