Simon Mahony is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the mining sector. Currently serving as a Senior Planning Engineer at Fortescue Metals Group since April 2019, Simon has successfully produced compliant mine plans and developed strategic models for mine scheduling and planning analyses. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Rio Tinto from 2006 to 2019, where Simon held several roles, from Specialist Mining Engineer to Superintendent Technical Services, contributing to mine planning, closure studies, and operational strategy development. Additionally, Simon's career spans various engineering roles at multiple companies, including Premier Coal and BMA, and significant surveying experience with North Limited and Plutonic.
