Erna Kalpala

Erna Kalpala is a seasoned sustainability professional currently serving as a Sustainability Manager for Compliance at Fortum since February 2024. Previously, Kalpala held the position of Senior Sustainability Specialist at KPMG Finland, where responsibilities included EU Taxonomy analyses, sustainability reporting, and ESG regulatory support. Prior experiences include roles as a Sustainability Specialist and Assistant Legal Counsel at KONE, an IPR Legal Trainee at Berggren, and a Trainee at the Vaasa Administrative Court, focusing on environmental law. Kalpala's educational background comprises a Master's degree in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability from the University of Helsinki, additional studies in Corporate Responsibility at Hanken School of Economics, and a comprehensive legal education with bachelor's and master's degrees in Law from the same institution. Kalpala has also pursued minors in Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University and completed an exchange semester at the University of Melbourne.
