Alessandra Byrro Rodrigues, B.Eng, EIT

Alessandra Byrro Rodrigues, B.Eng, EIT has a varied work experience. Alessandra began their career in 2015 as a Summer Engineering/Quality Control Intern at Rima Industrial S.A. where they conducted granulometry tests, determined humidity, volatiles, and ash, and performed titrations, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and plasma emission spectroscopy. In 2017, they moved to Läut Beer as a Production Manager where they directed improvements in safety, job roles, product quality, and cost-efficiency, inspected raw materials and finished products, and planned, organized, and managed operations. In 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant at Mohawk College where they executed the forward osmosis module with the Aquaporin membrane and prepared samples and standards. Currently, they are a Research Engineer at Forward Water Technologies Inc. and a Research Assistant at Lambton College, where they assist in the design, execution, interpretation, analysis of results and elaboration of final reports. Alessandra also conducts lab analysis using spectrophotometers, HPLC, GC, FTIR, titrations, conductivity meters, pH meters, refractive index, and more. Additionally, they prepare lab supplies and chemical solutions for products and processes, maintains, cleans, repairs, sets up, and calibrates laboratory instruments and equipment, and follows safety procedures and keeps a safe work environment.

Alessandra Byrro Rodrigues, B.Eng, EIT has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, which they obtained between 2010 and 2016. Alessandra is currently enrolled in a Biotechnology Ontario College Diploma program at Mohawk College, which they began in 2020. In addition, they have obtained certifications in AutoCAD 2022 Essential Training from Linkedin Learning in June 2022, Transportation of Dangerous Good by Ground (TDG) from Worksite Safety in April 2022, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Integrating the GHS from Mohawk College in April 2020.
