Angela Bowman has a diverse work experience spanning over almost two decades. Angela'smost recent role is as the Science Advocacy Lead at the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a position they started in 2022. Before that, they worked at Washington University in St. Louis for four years as the Administrative Core Lead of the Model Organism Screening Center, Undiagnosed Diseases Network. In this role, they coordinated a local team of scientists and integrated them with the wider NIH-funded UDN. Prior to this, Angela served as the Executive Director of the Center of Regenerative Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine from 2014 to 2022. Angela also worked as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley from 2012 to 2014 and as a Graduate Student at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2006 to 2012. Angela gained industry experience as a Summer Intern at Merck from 2004 to 2006 and started their research career as an Undergraduate Researcher at The Wistar Institute from 2002 to 2006.
Angela Bowman received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. Angela then pursued their PhD in Developmental Biology at Stanford University School of Medicine, completing their studies in 2012.
