Yaya Jata Fanusie is a recognized expert in policy related to anti-money laundering (AML) and cybersecurity risk within the digital asset space. Currently serving as the Director of Policy for AML & Cyber Risk at the Crypto Council for Innovation, Yaya also holds the position of Chief Strategist at Cryptocurrency AML Strategies, LLC, where strategic consulting services are provided to financial institutions and technology firms. As an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security and an Adjunct Fellow at the Foundation For Defense of Democracies, Yaya focuses on fintech, national security implications of cryptocurrencies, and technological innovation. Additional roles include producing the Spy Thriller Podcast Series The Jabbari Lincoln Files and serving as a Senior Advisor at ICmed, LLC. Past experience includes consulting for the Command Consulting Group, where Yaya developed analytical frameworks for tracking stolen assets, and providing analysis for the Central Intelligence Agency on counterterrorism issues. Yaya holds an M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
