Matthew Nelson

Matthew Nelson has a strong background in biotech and business development. Matthew is currently working as the Vice President of Biopharma Partnership Development at Foundation Medicine since 2022. Before that, they served as the Senior Director of Companion Diagnostic Partnering at Illumina from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, Matthew held the position of Vice President of Business Development at Caris Life Sciences from 2019 to 2020. Matthew also worked as an Executive Director at Biodesix, Inc. from 2017 to 2019 and as the Director of Companion Diagnostic Partnering at Ventana Medical Systems from 2015 to 2017. Matthew's earlier experience includes roles at Transgenomic, Bar Harbor BioTechnology, Inc., Almac Diagnostics, and Bio-Rad Laboratories.

Matthew Nelson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Stetson University between 1996 and 1999. Matthew then pursued a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Florida College of Medicine, which they completed from 1999 to 2002. During the same period, they also obtained a Master of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business.
