From March 2013 until December 2016, Messinger served as the chief technology officer of Twitter, Inc., an online social media company, where he previously served as vice president of application development from April 2012 to March 2013, and vice president of platform development from November 2011 to April 2012. Prior to that, he was vice president of development at Oracle Corporation, a computer technology company, from January 2008 to November 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Computer Science from Willamette University and a Master of Science in Management from Stanford University.
