Gabriel Durkin

Gabriel Durkin, DPhil, currently serves as the Director of Data Science at Foursquare since January 2022 and has been with Peliquan Technologies since September 2008. Previously, Gabriel held positions as Senior Manager and Staff Data Scientist at Apartment List, where the focus was on leveraging data and machine learning for competitive advantage. Experience includes roles as Data Scientist II at Uber, working on geo-spatial intelligence and machine learning models related to human movement, and as a physicist and quantum computing researcher at the University of California, concentrating on algorithmic advancements in quantum computing. Earlier in the career, Gabriel coordinated quantum physics research at NASA and conducted post-doctoral research at JPL. Gabriel earned a Ph.D. in Quantum Physics from the University of Oxford and completed education at Rathmore Grammar School in Belfast.
