Allan Kotmel has over 20 years of work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Allan started their career as a Software Engineer at Telecom Analysis Systems in 1995 and later worked as an Intern at General Electric (GE), where they designed and implemented a new system for trading and running auctions over the Internet. Allan then joined Dragon Systems as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented COM interfaces and ActiveX controls for the Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition engine.

In 2000, Allan worked as a Software Engineer at Lernout & Hauspie before joining WatchPoint Media as a Sr. Software Engineer. There, they led a team in developing a system for the scheduling and playout of Interactive Television programs. Allan also gave architecture presentations to potential investors on streaming technology and developed a layered, extensible architecture for an OpenTV Application Streamer.

Allan then joined GoldPocket Interactive as a Sr. Software Engineer/Sr. Architect, where they designed and implemented GoldPocket's CableLabs EBIF user agent and worked with all engineering teams to architect new solutions. Allan also collaborated with external customers and partners to design integrations with other cable and satellite platforms and APIs.

In 2005, Allan joined FourthWall Media as a Director of Engineering, and later became the Vice President of Engineering. In these roles, they oversaw the engineering department and contributed to the development of innovative technologies.

Throughout their career, Allan also worked as an Independent Consultant for Trade Quotes, where they developed small network applications to read and parse web pages to generate address lists.

Allan Kotmel completed their high school education at Guilderland from 1988 to 1992. In addition to their academic qualifications, Allan also obtained a certification called CAP I from USA Volleyball in March 2016.
