Aurelien Lourot

Aurelien Lourot has worked in software engineering since 2007. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Software Engineer at Comsoft GmbH, where they ported a C++ GUI library from Motif to Qt, enhanced a C++ GUI, and developed a C++ multithreading library based on pthread. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Software Engineer at EuroAvionics GmbH, where they programmed C++ for the EuroNav embedded navigation system for helicopters, improved a module for collision avoidance, and developed a video recorder for the DaVinci DSP. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at TomTom, where they programmed C++ for the guidance component of NavKit, programmed Python, Gradle, CMake, Ansible, and Quickbuild for continuous integration, build and test systems, and did DevOps for Artifactory, Ivy, Docker, AWS, OpenStack, Ansible, nginx, collectd, and influxdb. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a Freelance Software Engineer at ESYS, where they developed Python, C++, and bash for embedded systems for logging data from different interfaces and forwarding them to a central server and a Google Cloud Bucket. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Canonical Ltd., where they developed Python for Juju cloud orchestration charms to be deployed on cloud infrastructure, bare-metal, or container technology, and mentored new hires. Since 2022, they have been working as a Freelance Software Engineer at Frameright, where they have been developing PHP, TypeScript, and ES2022 for a WordPress plugin leveraging cropping-related image metadata, using Web Components (lit. dev).

Aurelien Lourot studied Computer Science from 2004 to 2008 at INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, where they attained an Engineer and Master's Degree. Aurelien then continued their studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2008 to 2010, where they earned an Engineer's Degree.
