Dr. Jamie Thompson has a diverse work experience that spans over several companies and roles. They started their career in 2003 as a Registered Nurse at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and stayed there until 2013. From 2006-2013, they worked at Mississippi Baptist Health System, first as a Clinical Analyst and then as a Clinical Application Manager. In 2012, they started working at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where they held various roles including Director Clinical Engineering and Patient Equipment, Director Perioperative Services Business and Finance, and Executive Director. From 2015-2016, they also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Mississippi College. Currently, in 2022, they hold the position of Sr Director Nursing 3 - Surgery Administration at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
Dr. Jamie Thompson obtained a degree in Graphics Communication Technology from Meridian Community College from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Jamie then pursued an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from the same institution from 2001 to 2003. Following that, they completed a Master of Science in Nursing Healthcare Administration Nurse Executive program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 2010 to 2012. Finally, they obtained a Doctorate of Health Administration from the University of Mississippi Medical Center - School of Health Related Professions from 2014 to 2017.
