Ryan Beckstead

Ryan Beckstead has a diverse work experience in various roles related to information security and technology. Ryan is currently working at Franklin County Medical Center as an Information Security Officer. Prior to this role, they served as a Network Administrator at the same company.

In 2017, Ryan joined Utah State University as a Lecturer, teaching IT infrastructure and Cyber Security courses. During this time, they covered topics such as hardware, operating systems, networking, scripting (Python), cloud technologies, governance, penetration testing, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and digital forensics.

From 2018 to 2021, they also held a position as a City Council Member and Council President at the City of Weston Idaho.

Before that, Ryan worked as an Online Adjunct Faculty at BYU-Idaho in 2016 and held roles at Your Health Idaho as a Privacy and Compliance Lead and Security Analyst from 2015 to 2017.

In 2014, they worked as an IT Security Auditor at Franklin County Medical Center, and prior to that, they were an Information Assurance Analyst at the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center (NIATEC) from 2012 to 2014.

Ryan also gained experience as a Security Analyst at the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General in 2013.

Furthermore, they served as a Council Member and Council President at the City of Weston, Idaho from 2007 to 2013.

Earlier in their career, Ryan worked as a Web Developer at Conservice from 2011 to 2012, where they designed websites and implemented Agile Programming techniques with a focus on secure system development.

Throughout their career, Ryan Beckstead has gained expertise in information security, network administration, IT infrastructure, cyber security, web development, and privacy and compliance.

Ryan Beckstead obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Idaho State University, starting in 2012 and finishing in 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems with an Accounting minor from Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, they completed some coursework in Computer Science at the University of Idaho from 2000 to 2002. Ryan Beckstead attended Bonneville High School, but no specific dates or degrees were provided for this education. Furthermore, they have obtained additional certifications, such as Network+, A+, SSCP, CISSP, and Security+. Network+ and A+ certifications were acquired from CompTIA in May and March of 2007, respectively. SSCP certification was obtained from (ISC)2 in June 2013, and CISSP certification, also from (ISC)2, was attained in March 2014. Lastly, the Security+ certification was obtained from CompTIA in May 2011.
