APAC Strategic Ventures & Incubation Lead at Franklin Templeton Investments

Azril Ikram, CFA has diverse work experience in various industries. Azril is currently working at Franklin Templeton as the APAC Fintech Strategy & Incubator Lead, where they review fintech startups and provides continuous support for portfolio companies. Prior to this, they worked at Jirnexu as the Director of Strategy & Investor Relations, developing corporate strategies for multiple businesses across the ASEAN market. Azril also served as a Digital & Strategy Manager at EY and as a Senior Analyst at Bank Negara Malaysia. In addition, they have experience as a Digital Analyst at AirAsia, where they focused on data analysis and optimizing the company's online presence.

Azril Ikram, CFA has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) obtained from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, they completed a summer course in International Relations at the University of Cambridge, and in 2011, they also attended a summer course in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at Peking University. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2010, they pursued A Level studies at Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar (KTJ), focusing on Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics. Their high school education was completed from 2008 to 2009 at MARA Junior Science College (MRSM), where they specialized in the Science stream. Azril has also obtained various certifications, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in 2017, Certificate of Islamic Finance (CIF) from INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance in 2014, and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2008. Azril also holds additional certifications in Ten Habits of Mentally Strong People from LinkedIn in 2022 and Islamic Financial Planning (IFP) from the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) in 2020.
