Mateus Costa

Mateus Costa has a wealth of experience in engineering, software engineering, and mechatronics engineering. Mateus began their career in 2013 as a Mechatronics Engineer at Hyundai MOBIS and Seoul National University, where they worked on a wearable robot for assisting disabled patients to eat. In 2015, they became a Software Engineer at Full Engenharia Ltda, where they simplified the process for managing human resources and optimized the process for designing complex mechanical systems. Mateus also created two C# desktop applications. In 2016, they became a Mechatronics Engineer at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina Robotics Laboratory, where they created a computational model of a parallel robot using graph theory and screw theory and conducted data analysis of manipulators with flexible links. In 2018, they became the Technical Team Lead at Brick Abode, where they created a new marketplace that has closed more than $2M in deals since 2018 and optimized the UI/UX, among other accomplishments. Finally, in 2020, they became the Head of Engineering, Technical Lead, and Senior Software Engineer at Franq Open Banking, where they were responsible for the operations of a Financial Services Marketplace and mainly focused on the backend of three Django services, planning the future of the architecture, and building a larger tech team.

Mateus Costa has a diverse educational background. Mateus began their educational journey in 2007 at Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais where they obtained a Technical degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Mateus then continued their studies at the same institution, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2015. In 2013 and 2014, they attended Seoul National University as an Exchange Student, studying Mechanic and Aerospace Engineering. In 2016 and 2017, Mateus obtained a Master of Engineering degree from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Most recently, in 2020 and 2021, they completed an AWS Cloud Architect Nanodegree from Udacity in Computer Science. Additionally, Mateus has obtained several certifications from institutions such as freeCodeCamp, LinkedIn, CertiProf, and SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile.
