Holger Jahr

Holger Jahr has a diverse and extensive work experience. Holger started their career as a PhD student at Universität Bielefeld/ Grp Eichenlaub and then worked as a postdoc at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and Erasmus MC University Medical Center. During this time, they focused on molecular genetics and the development of microarray platforms for gene expression profiling. Holger then joined QIAGEN and Stanford University Medical Center as a consultant and visiting scientist respectively. In 2005, Holger Jahr became a senior staff member and lecturer at Erasmus MC, where they also worked on an EU-FP6 project for tissue engineering. Holger later became the Head of the Orthopaedic Research Lab at University Hospital Aachen and a Lecturer in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine at TU Delft. Since 2017, they have been leading the Biomaterials & Molecular Musculoskeletal Research Group at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen. Additionally, they briefly worked as a consultant at Merck Serono and QIAGEN.

Holger Jahr's education history is as follows:

Holger Jahr obtained a PhD in Molecular Biology/Microbiology from Bielefeld University, graduating in the year 2000. Before that, they completed an MSc (equivalent Diplom) in Biology, General from the same university, which took place from 1993 to 1994. In 1993, they also completed an internship in the Department of Gene Technology/Microbiology at Bielefeld University.

Prior to their university studies, Holger Jahr attended Widukind-Gymnasium in Enger, Germany, where they obtained an Abitur degree from 1978 to 1987.

Holger Jahr later pursued further education and obtained a Fachanatom (Board certified anatomist) degree from RWTH Aachen University in 2020. This qualification was recognized by the Anatomische Gesellschaft.

In addition to their formal education, Holger Jahr has obtained several certifications, including Clinical Development Online from Paul Janssen Futurelab Leiden in 2019, and various teaching and safety-related certifications from RWTH Aachen University, Erasmus MC, and other institutions between 2007 and 2015. These certifications cover subjects such as teaching competence, biosafety, radiation safety, technology transfer, and imaging techniques.
