You will need to have a solid understanding of fundamental principles of piping design and equipment layout, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D piping design software. Your focus will be on the prefabrication process, ensuring that all necessary drawings are created and that everything is accurate and up-to-date.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Converse with design team to provide Computer Aided Design/Drafting (CAD) support and documentation of engineering activities, using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit and MEP Suites.
Work with other team members in the coordination process such as subs, vendors to complete drawing and models as required to meet schedules.
Provide general layout drawings and P&IDs from verbal or written descriptions.
Be able to verify dimensional and layout requirements on job sites in an active construction environment.
Model/route piping in 3D. Create isometric fabrication drawings and maintain specification databases.
Execute changes to design or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Foremen to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
Job site visits and travel will be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s or associates degree in drafting technology or related field and a minimum of five or more years of detailing and design experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Advanced understanding of design software: AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, and Excel to develop design deliverables
Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings including BOMs
Advanced knowledge in piping and equipment layout commonly used in Process, HVAC and Natural Gas/Petroleum Industries
Mechanical aptitude and excellent math skills
Ability to work on multiple projects
Attention to Detail
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, organized, accuracy and problem solving are also necessary
Computer Skills:
Must be proficient in AutoCAD and currently uses AutoCAD MEP
Certificates & Licenses:
Valid Driver’s License
10 Hour OSHA Certification
