Carol Willette Khalil currently serves as Vice President of Corporate Sustainability at Freddie Mac, where Carol has held various leadership roles since December 2010, including the position of the first Sustainability Officer. Khalil is responsible for steering sustainability strategy and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives within the organization. Prior to Freddie Mac, Khalil worked as an Associate General Counsel specializing in Mission, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, providing legal guidance on corporate initiatives and regulations affecting financial institutions. Khalil's earlier experience includes serving as a Financial Services and Corporate Attorney at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, with a focus on the Investment Company Act of 1940 and other corporate transactions. Educationally, Khalil holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.S. in International Relations and Political Science from Boston University.
