Kate Hopwood

Kate Hopwood is the Head of Design at Freedom Australia. Kate has over fifteen years of experience in the field of design, and has worked with some of the biggest names in retail.

Kate began their career as a Buying Manager at Smiggle, a leading stationery company. Kate was responsible for delivering innovative and affordable products to customers across four global markets. Kate's attention to detail and passion for design helped make Smiggle a success.

In October 2014, Kate became the Design Manager at Kmart Australia Limited. Kate led a team of designers who created on-trend, volume products for the Kmart customer. Kate's strategic vision and ability to influence key stakeholders helped Kmart grow sales and profitability. In July 2019, Kate left Kmart to take on their current role as Head of Design at Freedom Australia.

Kate is a highly skilled designer with a proven track record of success. Kate is passionate about their work and takes great pride in creating products that are both stylish and affordable. Kate is an excellent leader and motivator, and is always looking for ways to improve the process and deliver quality results.

Kate Hopwood has a BA HONS in Furniture and Product Design from De Montfort University.
