Robertino Mera-Giler M.D.

Robertino Mera-Giler MD PhD has extensive experience in the field of biostatistics, epidemiology, and machine learning. Robertino is currently the Head of Biostatistics / Epidemiology / ML at Freenome, where they are responsible for designing diagnostic studies for liquid biopsy diagnostics and creating machine learning models as clinical biomarkers for adaptive design clinical trials. Prior to their current role, they worked at Gilead Sciences as the Head of Epidemiology / Real World Evidence / Machine Learning, where they established a data warehouse and utilized innovative statistical methodologies for multiple studies. Robertino also introduced interpretable machine learning algorithms and developed models for adverse events and health outcomes. Earlier in their career, they served as the Project Leader and Director of Research Statistics at GlaxoSmithKline Pharma GmbH and held the position of Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

Robertino Mera-Giler MD, PhD earned their PhD in Biostatistics from Tulane University. Robertino also obtained a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology/Public Health from Tulane University.
