Mike McKenna

Mike McKenna, MSc, CSP, SMS has extensive experience in the environmental, health, safety, and regulatory field. Mike is currently the VP Health, Safety and Environment at Freepoint Eco-Systems, where they develop management systems and processes for safe and environmentally friendly operations. Prior to this, they worked as an Environmental, Health & Safety Consultant at M & P McKenna, LLC. Mike also served as the EHS&R Manager at Grizzly Energy, LLC, where they developed and implemented EHS&R programs across multiple locations. Mike has a strong background in the petroleum industry, having held positions such as Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory Executive at a major petroleum company and EHS Consultant at SABIC. Mike also has experience managing field operations and HSEC at Maverick Drilling and Exploration USA, Ltd (now Freedom Oil & Gas). Earlier in their career, Mike worked as an HSE Manager at Rosetta Resources and Safety Manager at Apache Corporation. Mike holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science.

Mike McKenna has an M.S. in Safety Engineering from Texas A&M University, with a focus on Petroleum Engineering. Mike also pursued an incomplete Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General at the University of Houston. In terms of certifications, Mike is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Safety Management Specialist (SMS) awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Additionally, they hold the distinction of being an Eagle Scout, recognized by the Boy Scouts of America's Sam Houston Area Council.
