Kanyembo Katapa

Kanyembo Katapa, PE, PMP, is an experienced geotechnical engineering professional with over a decade of expertise in various roles at Freeport-McMoRan since December 2011, including Manager Geotechnical Engineering, Chief Geotechnical Engineer, Senior Geotechnical Engineer, and Environmental Engineer. Prior to this, Kanyembo worked as a Project Engineer at Tetra Tech, Ninyo & Moore, and EMC2, gaining extensive experience in project management and geotechnical investigations. Kanyembo began the engineering career as a Staff Engineer at United Consulting Group, focusing on geotechnical investigations and construction quality assurance. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Geoenvironmental Engineering from Arizona State University and a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona.
