Joel Rodriguez began their career in 2005 as a Trainer - Kitchen, Serving, Cashiering at Buffalo Wild Wings. In 2008, they joined FUNimation Entertainment as a Marketing Intern, and was promoted to Associate Brand Manager, then Brand Manager. In 2009, they worked as a Contract Social Media Coordinator at Lunchbox Studios. In 2013, they were an MBA Channel Marketing Intern at PlayStation, then Associate Retail Marketing Manager in 2014. In 2017, they joined Telltale Games as a Senior Brand Manager, and in 2018 they became a Senior Brand Manager at Versus Evil, LLC. In 2021, they were appointed as Director of Marketing at both Free Range Games and FreeRangeXR.

Joel Rodriguez received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they attended the University of North Texas from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a degree in Radio, TV, and Film with a focus on Media: Mass, Communicative, and Social. In 2005, they attended Dallas College. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Advanced Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Power Users from Google in May 2020, as well as Photoshop Fundamentals from AcademyX Computer Training.
