Avrim Fishkind

Avrim Fishkind has had a long and successful career in the mental health field. Avrim began their career in 2000 as the Chief Medical Officer for the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, Texas. Avrim then went on to become the Chief Executive Officer of JSA Health Telepsychiatry in 2007, where they were awarded the Gold Award from the American Psychiatry Association for Innovation in Community Psychiatry. In 2018, JSA Health Telepsychiatry was acquired by SOC Telemed, where Fishkind continued as General Manager of Psychiatric Services. In 2019, they returned to The Harris Center as Lead Psychiatrist Telehealth, responsible for designing and deploying a telepsychiatry program. In 2021, they became Medical Director at Freespira, Inc., a product proven to significantly reduce or eliminate panic attacks and PTSD symptoms, and Chief Medical Officer at Orbis Health, the first fully integrated biopsychosocial and wellness company in the United States. Avrim is also a Consultant and Strategic Advisor at Orbis Health.

Avrim Fishkind attended the University of Maryland from 1982 to 1986. Avrim then attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD). From 1991 to 1995, they attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for Psychiatry. In 1995 and 1996, they attended Columbia University for a Fellowship in Public Psychiatry and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for a Fellowship in Administrative Psychiatry.
