Joan Coert Hartjes, CPHR, serves as the Senior Operations Manager for British Columbia at the Girl Guides of Canada since April 2012, overseeing operations with a team of 14 staff and numerous volunteers, while contributing to organizational effectiveness and strategic priorities. Prior to this role, Joan was the High Performance Program Manager at Freestyle Canada from 2007 to 2012, managing multiple teams and external partnerships. Joan's earlier experience includes positions at the City of Rotterdam, where responsibilities encompassed HR generalist functions, training and development, and project management, alongside project management for a European Union-funded initiative aimed at facilitating employment for the long-term unemployed. Joan holds various educational credentials, including a post graduate diploma in Leadership from Emeritus and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation from CPHR BC.
