Lisa Maxwell-Frieden has been in the fundraising and development industry since 2000. Lisa began their career as an attorney at OKoon Hintermeister, PLLC. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as the Director of Gift Planning at DePauw University. During this time, they were involved in the silent phase of a comprehensive campaign, managing volunteers, and crafting complex gift agreements. In 2013, they moved to Butler University and held the same role until 2017. During this time, they were an ambitious fundraising executive with a Juris Doctorate degree and was known for their strategic and focused approach to planned giving and major gifts. In 2017, they became the Vice President of Alumni and Development at Trine University. In 2021, they began their current role as the Partnerships Lead at FreeWill, where they work on teams dedicated to transforming higher education and making it more affordable.
Lisa Maxwell-Frieden attended Indiana University Bloomington from 1988 to 1992 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theirtory and Political Science. Lisa then attended Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law from 1992 to 1995, where they earned a Doctor of Law.
