Anna Furniss

Anna Furniss has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Anna currently holds the position of Senior Director, Associate General Counsel at FreeWire Technologies since January 2024, where they previously served as Director, Associate General Counsel. Before that, Anna worked at b8ta as an Assistant General Counsel from November 2018 to June 2022. From May 2015 to November 2019, they were a Legal Content Contributor at UpCounsel, Inc., where they drafted original content for legal blogs and articles and created small business-related legal documents. Anna also gained experience as an Attorney at Furniss Family Law Group from March 2014 to November 2018. Earlier in their career, they served as General Counsel at ROI DNA and was a Partner at Furniss & Sparks, where they advised small businesses and startups on various legal matters. Anna began their legal career as an Associate at the Law Offices of Steven D. Hillyard, practicing civil litigation. Anna also worked as an Associate Counsel at Conservice, focusing on utility-related regulations, and interned at the San Diego Office of the City Attorney in the Criminal Appellate Division, where they drafted pleadings and briefs and prosecuted misdemeanor cases.

Anna Furniss has a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley. Anna also has a J.D. in Law from the University of San Diego School of Law. In addition, Anna participated in the UC Berkeley Study Abroad Program at The University of Birmingham in England, where they studied English. Before attending university, Anna went to St. Ignatius College Prep for high school and Crocker Middle School. Anna has also obtained certifications as an Attorney from the State Bar of California and as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) from the Yoga Alliance.
