Friends Committee on National Legislation
Tim Heishman serves as the Senior Advocacy Teams Manager at the Friends Committee on National Legislation since September 2021, with prior roles including Advocacy Teams Leadership and Training Manager and Advocacy Teams Trainer. Before this, Tim was the Pastor at Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren from October 2018 to July 2021, where responsibilities included delivering sermons and leading educational programs. Tim also served as Program Director at Brethren Woods Camp & Retreat Center from March 2016 to September 2018, overseeing summer camp operations and staff management. Earlier experience includes coordinating the National Youth Conference for the Church of the Brethren, Inc., catering to 2,500 participants in 2014. Tim holds a Master of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Biblical Studies from Eastern Mennonite University.

The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) fields the largest team of registered peace lobbyists in Washington, DC. Founded in 1943 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), FCNL staff and volunteers work with a nationwide network of tens of thousands of people from many different races, religions, and cultures to advocate social and economic justice, peace, and good government. FCNL is nonpartisan.
