Husam Sam E. Abdallah

Executive Director at Friends of Cyrus

Mr. Husam “Sam” E. Abdallah serves as Friends of Cyrus II’s Executive Director, bringing with him a lifelong devotion to service and a wealth of experience in the fields of medical and mental healthcare. Mr. Abdallah’s devotion to healthcare services is confirmed by his professional background, which includes direct care service, mental health education, crisis management, disaster response, and executive level management of state-run and privately owned disability service providers.

Prior to joining the Friends of Cyrus II Executive Team, he served in various leadership positions within the Division of Developmental Disabilities and Department of Human Services, including Assistant Division Director of State Developmental Centers and Chief Executive Officer of two New Jersey State-run Developmental Centers. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Delaware Psychiatric Center. He continues to assist in the behavioral health field by serving as a Certified Mental Health Screener to assist individuals in need of psychiatric emergency assistance.

Over the course of his tenure, Mr. Abdallah has served on Governor Richard Codey’s Mental Health Task Force Disaster Preparedness Work Group, was an active Faculty Member of Fairleigh Dickinson University in their School of Administrative Science, and was invited by the United Nations’ International Resource Consortium to present on Adolescents, Family Dynamics, and Mental Illness.
