Adrian Cruden has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. They are currently employed as the Head of People at Friends of the Earth. Prior to this role, they worked at VoiceAbility as the Regional Human Resources Manager and later as an HR Business Partner. They also served as a Trustee at Kirklees Citizens Advice and Law Centre and as the Co-Chair of the Party Regional Council for the Green Party of England and Wales. Additionally, Adrian Cruden held positions such as Non-Executive Director (Chair) at Kirklees Law Centre, Trustee at ShareAction, and Head of Human Resources at Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Their earlier career included roles at Scope as the Corporate Employee Relations Manager and Human Resources Manager (North), as well as at Brunel Housing as the Personnel Manager. They began their career at the National & Provincial Building Society, holding various HR roles.

Adrian Cruden's education history begins with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern & Medieval History from the University of Glasgow, which they earned from 1981 to 1985. Adrian then pursued further education and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Administration with a focus on Personnel from the University of the West of Scotland in 1986 and 1987.

In 1991 and 1993, Adrian completed a CIPD qualification in Human Resources through Unison Distance Learning. Following this, they attended the Bradford Chamber of Commerce and completed an NVQ Level 4 in Management from 1994 to 1996.

Adrian then enrolled in Keele University from 1999 to 2002, where they completed a Master of Arts degree in Employment Law & Industrial Relations.

In 2003, Adrian achieved Chartered Fellow status through CIPD Qualifications.

Most recently, in 2021, Adrian obtained a Strategic Human Resources Leadership Certificate from AIHR | Academy to Innovate HR.
